La Canonja, 31 d’octubre de 2025
Avui s’ha constituït l’Associació per l’Impuls de l’Àrea Metropolitana del Camp de Tarragona amb la presència dels alcaldes i alcaldesses de Salou, Reus, Tarragona, Constantí, la Canonja, Cambrils i Valls.
En aquesta primera reunió s’ha acordat que el comitè directiu estigui integrat per tots els alcaldes i alcaldesses que han signat la constitució de l’associació i que la primera presidència recaigui en l’alcalde de la Canonja, Roc Muñoz. La vicepresidència l’ocuparan els alcaldes de Valls i Salou mentre que l’alcalde de Constantí farà les funcions de secretari.
També s’ha decidit que, durant el primer semestre de l’any que ve, amb la incorporació de nous municipis associats, es convocarà una nova assemblea per renovar l’executiva, de manera que es permetrà la participació d’altres ajuntaments que no siguin els fundadors.
En aquesta sessió també s’ha aprovat el protocol d’adhesió, que defineix els passos que han seguir els ajuntaments que vulguin formar part de l’associació, així com els circuits per a l’establiment de memoràndums, protocols o convenis amb altres administracions públiques, organismes de dret públic i entitats privades, amb l’objectiu de col·laborar en els diferents àmbits de treball.
Un altre dels punts aprovats ha estat el sistema de quotes per trams de població, que té en compte les diferències pressupostàries entre municipis. Aquest model permet, d’una banda, garantir una mínima solvència econòmica per al funcionament de l’associació i, de l’altra, afavorir que els municipis més petits puguin participar-hi activament.
A més a més, s’han definit set o vuit comissions de treball, que començaran a funcionar de manera immediata per impulsar i coordinar les diverses línies del projecte metropolità.
Finalment, també s’ha creat la figura del comissionat, càrrec no retribuït que, entre altres, assumirà la representació institucional de l’associació davant altres agents del territori i de Catalunya, l’impuls de consensos entre municipis i l’execució del pla de treball anual aprovat per l’associació. Aquesta responsabilitat recaurà en l’actual cap de gabinet de la vicepresidència primera de la Diputació de Tarragona, atès que aquest professional ja exerceix bona part de les tasques de coordinació del Grup Impulsor de l’Àrea Metropolitana del Camp de Tarragona (ACMT) des de l’ens supramunicipal.
